Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens-Louis Jordan & his Tympany Five

OK this game has seriously made me love this song! It's a great, catchy, 1940s tune.
And when I'm driving around in-game, it's great!

Speaking of L.A. Noire-It's an amazing game. Got it as a bday gift awhile back. Basically it takes place in 1947 Los Angeles. You play as Cole Phelps, and over time through completing cases, you get promoted to a higher position. It's all about solving crimes. Also there's extra things on the side, but really solving cases is the main deal. Another big thing is knowing if someone is telling the truth, lying, or you can doubt them. I've gotten pretty far in it, and it's great. I also love the Black and White feature. Then I can play in color, or in BW like an old film! ;D

Overall, it's a awesome game. If you're into the 1940s, solving crimes, and all that I suggest getting it!

Pokemon X and Y trailer

Yes this is waaaay old, but I wanted to share the Pokemon X and Y trailer!

You don't know how excited I was when they had announced this a month ago.
I am a HUGE fan of pokemon, ever since I was little. I have played the original Red and Blue from 1998 up till Black and White 2! I can never get too old for it. :)
Just the new enhancements are great, and I'm really excited for the new changes. I think I'll be picking Chespin as my starter pokemon.
Also BTW as a bday present, my friend had preordered Pokemon Y for me. I have the receipt safe and sound. Now I just have to wait till October 2013.......

Labyrinth Ear

Okay, so this group is starting to grow on me.
Ever since I started listening to their Humble Bones song(Remember the one I put on my first post?) I have since explored the other songs.
I do say they are REALLY catchy.
I'll share the ones that are my favorites.

Amber

Snow White (Their music video has Betty Boop in it)

Navy Light

Urchin

Walk on the Moon (This song is #2, I just love the catchy slow beat)

Humble Bones (Yes I'm posting this one again cause it's my favorite!)

Well, I think this blog is going to become music based. There are just waaaay too many awesome songs. If I post music next time, I'll actually post some big band music. Can't resist all the jazzy goodness from the greatest era ever!

One of my favorite bands: Steam Powered Giraffe

Now you may be wondering who is Steam Powered Giraffe? They are a band in the steampunk style and genre, and do robotic pantomime. Steampunk is a style of clothing that mixes Victorian and futuristic together.

SPG is not that well known still, but they are slowly getting there. How did I start liking them? One of my friends on facebook posted a song, and I decided to check it out. After I heard the music, I loved it.
I think this song is a must to introduce someone to:

Also you're probably thinking why are their faces painted. Well they are supposed to be robots, that were created by Colonel P.A. Walter in 1896. More details in the backstory is on their website:http://www.steampoweredgiraffe.com/backstory.html

Sadly as I got into them, one of their band members was leaving. You have The Rabbit, The Spine, and The Jon. The guy who was The Jon left. Now they have a new robot named Hatchworth. All the music on youtube is with The Jon, so no Hatchworth yet. I actually cannot wait till they make new songs with him. :)

Here are a few other songs:

There are a lot of other great songs they've done. I have tons on my ipod.
So yeah, I basically blame my friend for getting me to like them. But it's all good. I got a tshirt and bracelet as one of my presents from Christmas.

So, hope you enjoyed, and maybe I added some new fans. :D
*Also btw, YAY for the Houston Texans!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to anyone out there!
Also I discovered a awesome song through Tumblr, called Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Gregorian. It's such a beautiful song.

Once again, have a Happy New Year!

"I am Sinistar! Beware I live."

"RUN, RUN, RUN!"

That thing probably scared most kids in the arcade back in 1982.
The game is called Sinistar released by Williams in 1982 for the arcades. The main plot is you pilot a spacecraft, and you try to create sinibombs by shooting at planetoids. While you are collecting the pieces from the planetoids, you have to dodge enemy warrior ships. Another thing is Sinistar, who is this guy up above, does not appear at the beginning. You have enemy worker ships who are trying to build him. Those things can steal your pieces when you blow up a planetoid. So it's basically a race with the clock before Sinistar shows up. In order to defeat him, you have to use 13 sinibombs. You do this same process for four zones, with the last one being the hardest.(Obviously)

Here's a gameplay video:

Yeah, so Mr. Sinistar here must of been a shock back in the day.
The game has actually become a legacy. Videogames today even feature the quotes he's said. Sinistar was also the first game to feature stereo sound. I say the game seemed pretty advanced for '82.
Unfortunately I have not played it even though there have been ports. It would be amazing to own the actual arcade cabinet(Yes I'm a big fan of old school gaming).

Let's all hear that pleasant voice again. ;)

Hello There!

Soo, here is GF11 making a new blog. Since I have my Ginger's Corner entirely devoted to Ginger Rogers, this one will be just about whatever. I actually really don't know what the main theme of this will be, hence it being called Something Random. So actually just be prepared for a bit randomness of videogames, music I like, or whatever!

I guess we'll start off with music. This song has been my favorite to listen to recently, it's just so good!

It's called Humble Bones by Labyrinth Ear.
